Therapist
Therapy has been such a taboo word for years. Most of us are just not wiling or comfortable with sharing so much of ourselves to another individual, let alone a stranger, which is totally understandable. However, if you are researching and came across this page, then you have considered the possibilities of enriching your quality of life, by better understanding and coping with life situations.
I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, who has been in the field for 13 years. The first 8 years have been dedicated to working as an In-Home Co-Therapist and Outpatient Therapist for children in the DHR system. The last 5 years has been dedicated to working in outpatient Psychiatry for adults with serious mental illnesses, such as schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, and other mood and/or psychosis disorder.
I have worked with a range of ages from 5 to 70 and with diverse life situations and backgrounds. Therefore, I am here to help you get to the bottom of whatever life situation is hindering you from living your best life. My purpose is to help you find the best quality of life possible. I plan to do so by being a listening ear and a soundboard for you to bounce your thoughts off of. In therapy, we will scratch the surface to get to the greater problem at hand. We will assess your thoughts and challenge the validity of those thoughts in any given situation. We wil learn coping skills that will help you to better manage those struggles that you are facing. In the end, my hope is that you will be better equipped for what life dishes out. This is your safe space, so let's get to work.
